How to reduce the Daily Stress by Throwing off the Most Common Masks in Life
Let’s talk about the different masks we wear and the roles we play in order to protect ourselves especially when life goes the wrong direction and things are not the way we think they should be. We use the masks and play the roles in order to protect or show off ourselves, so as to feel happy and secure throughout our life time, but mostly in times of difficulties when we pretend that there is nothing wrong with us and no matter how deep we may be hurt we use them as a shield in order to convince other people and let them believe that we are OK.
Playing this “game of happiness” is not as easy as we think and when we overplay it, we end up with to more stress and anxiety, depression and burnouts than usual. When we get aware that life is neither as simple nor as complicated as we think it to be, then we can “train” ourselves not to take anything personally, because every situation can teach us a lesson and the people we meet usually project their attitude to life on others expecting them to act or not to act the way they usually do.
We all play the role of the main character in our lives and there is nothing wrong with it. Things become more complicated when you want others to share the same perception of your own movie as you hold deep inside yourself. You feel disappointed when someone in your surroundings is not aware of your feelings of sadness or confusion, but the way you see your life and the game of life you choose to play is yours and has nothing to do with anyone else.
I know from my own journey that we can best learn from our families and closest friends that it is beneficial for us to express our attitude in the appropriate ways and not to suppress such kind of negative emotions pretending that nothing is wrong by using different masks or playing different roles in order to show how good and perfect humans we are.
Awareness is the first step you have to take if you want to live a fulfilled life and enjoy your journey on the planet Earth. Awareness is a process of mastering your behavior to life and the more aware you become the more clearly you understand that to be authentic and reveal your true essence is much better than to play roles; so, there is a way to stop wearing your masks so that to be genuinely happy and fulfilled in life.
We all have different parts within ourselves and some of them are connected with and represent our dark side, so we are trained not to show them in public or not even to give a try to integrate them all within ourselves in order to achieve peace and harmony in life. It is much easier to put a mask pretending “I am OK. Everything in my life is the way I want it to be!”
So after a period of time it can be very hard to even recognize yourself under the mask you use or in the role that you have played for your entire life.
When you get aware of the process itself, then you can easily recognize each of the masks and roles you have. Then you may try to accept them and integrate your different sides within yourself to see how your life will change and why doing this could be so beneficial to you and your reality. I know what I am talking about because I was good at everything I did in my entire life, but being good at everything is not a big achievement; it is much harder to be really good or expert at only one thing at a time instead of playing too many roles and having so many masks to wear throughout your life journey.
When I start working on my personal development and growth I got aware of the masks I was wearing and the main role I was playing at that time. I understood in a rather hard way /based on my own experience and self-observation work I did while completing so many courses and trainings/, that in order to feel secure and happy in life I had to discover my own way to deal with the different roles I had in life. So, based on my experience, I can suggest that you are most probably playing the two common roles: of the participant and the observer of life; and you are playing them in every situation in life.
We all play these roles, choosing to be active or passive in life; but we protect ourselves by them, especially when things go in a different direction than we have expected, and when we feel stressed and exhausted; so, we play the same cycle of life again and again. We usually associate ourselves with the participant’s role and waste much of our energy to master the performance of the role each time things go out of control.
Awareness is the state of being when you understand that it is not beneficial to take yourself /and life/ so seriously every time when things are not the way you want them to be. If you can step outside the situation you are involved in and try to see the bigger picture, or to understand what lies beneath the surface, you will get a different perspective to life and its lessons.
To be an observer instead of a participant, especially when you are emotionally envolved in difficult life situations gives you many advantages because you are really concentrated and focused on finding out a solution having all your energies available within your physical body, not wasting them in vain to express anger, rage or any other feeling that triggers you to act or not to act in a reasonable way.
When you become aware of the masks you put on yourself as a “wall of defense” or as a shield of protection , you can put them down and then away because they no longer serve you: thus you become a new person, you have a new identity and you are deeply connected with your core values and standards starting to express your true powerful essence, so you do not need such kind of defense any more.
When you express your authentic self other people can feel and experience it, so you attract them like a magnet. The Universe responds to these new vibrations you emit and supports you in a very powerful way giving you all resources and contacts you need because now you are already aligned with you true nature- the nature of love and light. So, when you are involved with something or someone that makes you feel stressed or troubled, the key point is to stop and step out of the situation, then try to see the entire picture through the eyes of an observer.
Just be the person who is outside the process, not involved in it and see how this will change the energy of the process and the situation itself. This simple “stop” makes the shift and helps you see the process through the eyes of a stranger: and this attitude will give you the best outcome and the most powerful solution for solving the problem if it still continues to exists.
When you consciously “stop” in the middle of a complicated situation or while dealing with a difficult person being able to step out of it and see it from a different point of view, this makes decision taking easier and more efficient, because you are not attached to the energy of the situation any more and you look at it as a person who is “watching “ outside as an observer not engaged with the emotions of anger or rage and being able to think rationally and discover the solution for every life problem.
Right now is the time for you to start practicing the ”stop and observe“ process, if you want to be aware of everything happening in your life, moreover that our reality has changed and we live in a new world now after December 2012.
Having all your energies preserved within yourself is beneficial if you want to not to waste them but use them efficiently for co-creating your new wonderful reality, because to be a life Co-creator you do not need to wear masks or to play roles – the only “must” is to be the person who you really are, to be fully and truly present here now and to enjoy your learning journey on Earth because of the journey itself
